Manchester City V Newcastle

Etihad Stadium
November 19, 2011

Well, I was contemplating between this match and Chelsea V Liverpool but decided to go with the clash of the 2 teams which are still undefeated in the English Premier League. After 11 games into the league, Newcastle certainly have impressed many with their current position and form.

Manchester City won all their 5 home games, scoring a whopping 16 goals in their 5 home games, that's averaging more than 3 goals per game and conceding just 2 goals in Etihad Stadium. For the Magpies, they won 3 and drew 2 games on the road, scoring 7 goals and conceding just 3 goals. They have the best defence on the road along side Manchester United. But seemingly lacking in fire power upfront.

City endured an early scare at Loftus Road against Queens Park Rangers when QPR scored through Jay Bothroyd in the 28 minute, and Heidar Helguson. But City managed to fight back with goals from Edin Dzeko, David Silva and Yaya Toure scoring the winner. The reason for the scare would come down to the absence of their skipper Vincent Kompany who was out due to suspension. Stefen Savic was a mess in the City defence. Newcastle managed to find a winner through a Ryan Taylor wonder goal as seen from my previous post.

I am not going through the past head-to-head results because this is a totally new Manchester City likened to be the Barcelona of England. I see Manchester City to keep scoring goals throughout the season coming from all sources. Well, City knocked 6 past the Red Devils, Can the Magpies hold up?

Hey Bo, I agree with City winning, in particular an Aguero goal(a Silva assist?), but I have got say that I feel the Magpies will grab a goal.

Keep up the good work
